Marco Gallo has gone into business.
He started his online food business as a way of generating extra income and keeping himself busy, while Metro Manila continues to be under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
He tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Everything started when I was sitting on my couch, and I was really bored because I think I've done everything I could during this quarantine."
Marco now creates and sells Oreo Box Cakes.
How did he come up with the idea for his online food business?
He reveals, "I was chatting with a friend and we started thinking to make cakes just out of fun and not as a business.
"That's one of the reasons why it's really cheap, because I didn't want to make money out of it. I just wanted to have a hobby for the meantime!"
Marco's mother taught him how to make the Oreo Box Cake, which costs PHP250.
When business was just starting, it would take Marco almost an hour to make one cake. But when orders started coming in, Marco got used to creating the cake and is now able to make four cakes in half an hour.
He sells 15 to 20 cakes per day.
"It's a profitable business, but you really need good marketing and promotion," the Filipino-Italian actor says.
Clients who have tried his Oreo Box Cake attest that it is truly delicious.

MARCO ON DELIVERING "FOOD MADE WITH LOVE"
One of Marco's friends reveals to PEP.ph's Cabinet Files that Marco once worked as a pizza delivery guy when he was still living in Italy.
Today, he is so hands-on with his business that he personally delivers the cakes to his customers.
How do his clients react when they see him delivering their orders?
Marco says, "Natutuwa naman sila.
"Usually they wouldn't expect it, but I'm trying to do something different because the motto of my small business is 'food made with love.'
"I wanted to bring something made with love, that's why I personally deliver their orders, straight to them with love."
The 19-year-old actor is also thankful to his fellow riders, who help him whenever he runs into problems with his motorcycle.
He is grateful that they help him without expecting anything in return, and not because they recognize him as an actor.
